Rose Cremation Urns: Pretty in Pink

June 29, 2017 urngarden.com

In an earlier post this month, “Rose Cremation Urns for June”, I promised you a second post showcasing our rose cremation urns–and here it is!

One of our customers emailed us about this urn to say, “My mom passed away last week & this urn IS my mom!! She LOVED pink & roses!! So much so, she had a pepto bismol PINK colored car, that she had no problem dropping us off at school as teenagers, lol!”

This collection of rose urns are charmingly elegant. The first, our Sweetheart Rose Cremation Urn is porcelain and made in the USA . Next, the Tea Rose Cremation Urn is of ceramic; and the third, our Dusty Pink Rose Cremation Urn is a gorgeous cloisonné urn.

The Carolina Rose Cremation Urn, crafted in the United States from fine porcelain and measures almost 11” tall. It features heirloom Rosa Carolina flowers in soft shades of pink, highlighted on an ivory white background with gold trim and a bronze base. It’s size makes it suitable for the ashes of an adult.

Ruby Rose Cremation Urn

As I said, this next rose urn, our Ruby Rose Cremation Urn is one of my personal favorites. This metal is a beautiful shade of deep burgundy with a shimmering mother of pearl inlay of roses.

Ruby Rose Urn for AshesEach petal represents the ultimate symbol of love. If keeping in the home, this cremation urn would blend into a French Country or country cottage decor.

Measures: 10′ H x 7″ W
Capacity: Adult, 200 cubic inches
The lid can be sealed with any clear household adhesive or wax.
The photo frame is optional and doubles as a keepsake to store a small amount of ashes.

Dusty Pink Rose Urn for Ashes

dusty rose pink cremation urn for ashes
Pretty Dusty Pink Rose cloisonné cremation urn, the world wide symbol of love and devotion. People often mistake Cloisonne (pronounced Cloy-son-a) as ceramic or porcelain, and are surprised to discover that it’s metal. Cloisonne is an ancient art that blends layers of copper, brass, and baked enamel for a beautiful strong finish in soft pink. Families often choose this style to showcase in the home, as the urn is attractive enough to stand on it’s own as a piece of fine art. We are able to engrave on the cloisonne style (one of the few who do!) if you choose to personalize. In addition to the adult size, this is part of a collection of several different sizes, including an oversized version that will hold two complete sets of human ashes.

All of the styles we’ve shown you today are hand crafted and naturally, can have variations. A couple of them are even made here in the USA. The beauty and symbolism of the rose cannot be denied. Need help finding the perfect memorial? We are here:

Rose Cremation Urns for June

June 12, 2017 Kim Stacey

rose

It’s June…and Roses are in Bloom

“What a lovely thing a rose is!” So wrote Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, in the Sherlock Holmes story, The Naval Treaty. Coming from the mouth of Sherlock Holmes, lover of science and deductive reasoning, the heart-felt emotion of the statement was a rather a surprise. If the popularity of our collection of rose cremation urns is any indicator, many folks agree with Sherlock’s observation.

The Meaning & Symbolism of Roses
Roses aren’t just lovely to look at; for thousands of years the flower has been a symbol of love. (The ancient Greeks and Romans associated roses with the goddesses of love, Aphrodite and Venus.) In Tarot, the rose is considered a symbol of balance and expresses promise, hope, and new beginnings. In England, the Tudor dynasty (think Henry VII) created the Tudor rose as a symbol of the conjoining of the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster. (Sources)

Urn Garden’s Rose Cremation Urns

I’ll be honest: I love roses. (That’s the reason why we’ve got such a fine selection of rose cremation urns!) Here are three of my favorites. Each of these three rose urns is hand-crafted, made of metal and measures 10” high and 6” deep –making them suitable for the ashes of an adult.

Ruby Rose Urn for AshesThe Ruby Rose Cremation Urn is a beautiful rich shade of ruby red. It’s traditional in shape and features an elegant long-stemmed rose inlay of mother-of-pearl.

What I like to think of as it’s sister, the Midnight Rose Cremation Urn is equally breathtaking.

Blue rose urn for ashesBoth rose urns feature a secure, threaded lid and come with a complimentary storage bag.

This next rose cremation urn, the Irish Rose Cremation Urn isn’t ruby red or midnight blue – it’s a rich, emerald green.

“My wild Irish Rose, the sweetest flower that grows.
You may search everywhere, but none can compare with my wild Irish Rose.

My wild Irish Rose, the dearest flower that grows,
And some day for my sake, she may let me take the bloom from my wild Irish Rose.” ~Daniel O’Donnell, My Wild Irish Rose

Like the Ruby Red and Midnight Blue rose cremation urns, this highly-polished metal urn features a long-stemmed rose inlay of mother-of-pearl. It’s truly a beautiful rose urn, representing love, but also symbolizing the Emerald Isle and Irish heritage.

Do You Love Roses too? Good! There are More to Come!

As I said before, it’s June, “the month of leaves and roses”. In celebration, I’ll share three more of our most popular rose cremation urns in an upcoming post.

Angel Urns: Celebrate the Divine

May 11, 2017 Kim Stacey

Do you believe in angels? Do you know you have a guardian angel protecting you in an often chaotic world? If so; you (and thousands of others) are the reason why Urn Garden offers an extensive collection of angel urns. Today I’m going to share three beautiful angel cremation urns, each of which is decorated with golden angel’s wings.

What do Angel’s Wing’s Symbolize?

Angels are seen as heavenly beings who serve as God’s messengers. As such, angels have wings so they can traverse the celestial sphere. Functional, yes; but for many people an angel’s wings are far more; they are symbolic of God’s creativity and compassion, through Angels are seen as heavenly beings who serve as God’s messengers. As such, angels have wings so they can traverse the celestial sphere. Functional, yes; but for many people an angel’s wings are far more; they are symbolic of God’s creativity and compassion, through which we can soar to new heights of understanding and joy–even when grieving the death of a loved one. The golden angel’s wings on these three angel urns act as reminders of the celestial gifts we call “angels”, emissaries of God’s loving protection.

The first angel urn for sale here at Urn Garden is the Heart of an Angel Adult Urn for Ashes. Made in the USA by talented husband and wife team, this beauty can be wall mounted and is decorated with hand-carved angel wings which together form a heart. Allow a little lead time on this style, they are made to order.

Rose gold angel wing ash pendant and chain is a small keepsake that holds just a trace amount of cremains. A perfect choice for a tiny memorial to keep close to your heart.

Was Your Mother an Angel?

So many folks I speak with describe their mother (or grandmother!) as “an angel”. There’s a lovely poem celebrating the angelic nature of a loving mother which you’ll find quoted in dozens of online obituaries and resource websites. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to find the name of the person who wrote it.

Yet, because it is so often quoted it’s obvious the words strike a chord in the hearts of many, many people. I’d like to thank the author on behalf of us all. Whoever he or she may be; no matter when these words were put to paper–the author of “I Never Saw Your Wings”, written for a beloved mother, has given us quite a gift. (Source: Poems a Plenty)

How is it that I never saw your wings
when you were here with me?
When you closed your eyes and soared
to the Heavens I could hear the
faint flutter of you wings as you left.
Your body no longer on this side
your spirit here eternally I see your halo shine.
I close my eyes and see the multicolored wings
surround me in my saddest moments and my happiest times.
Mother my angel God has given you your assignment
always my mother forever my angel.
You fly into my dreams and when I am asleep
I feel your wings brush against my face wiping away
the tears I shed since I can no longer hold you in my arms but in my heart.
You earned those wings dear mother
and you will always be me angel eternal.

Such beautiful words and images! The poem reminds me Mother’s Day is just around the corner, making May a perfect time to honor your mother’s memory with an angel urn. If you agree, I suggest you review  our complete collection of Angel Cremation Urns. If you have questions about any of our angel urns for sale, please call me at 1-888-876-1467. How Bird Urns Can Inspire Grieving Hearts to Heal

April 24, 2017 Kim Stacey

blue bird inspirational quote

It’s spring; the season when–after a long winter–we once again see birds returning home and hear the melodies of their songs. They are among the first signs of the change of seasons; a transition which brings hope to even those who grieve. For many of our customers, a bird urn or mini-urn chosen from the selection of bird urns shown here reminds them of the power of spring to restore faith and hope.

Cardinal cremation urn for ashes

Cardinal Urns

Because of its popularity, this first bird urn, the Cardinal on Dogwood Flower Urn, was recently featured in “Expressions of Nature’s Beauty: Urn Garden’s Top 5 Nature Urns”.

Cardinals, as you might know are, for some, powerful symbols of power and enthusiasm. In Native American lore, the Cardinal watches over our relationships, overseeing courtship and inspiring loyalty and monogamy. Also, for some, Cardinals represent the spirit of a loved one who has passed away.

This bird urn has a 200 cubic inch capacity, making it ideal for an adult. It is 10 inches high and 6 inches wide; made of metal and hand-painted. It comes with a velvet storage bag.

Our next Cardinal urn, the Cardinal Jeweled Keepsake, is just 3 inches high. It’s exquisite: hand-painted in rich red enamel and studded with Austrian crystal. This tiny keepsake will hold a very small amount of ashes, a lock of hair, or other memento.

Bluebird Urns

bluebird-mini-urn for ashes

Lots of people the world over see the bluebird as the perfect life-affirming symbol of love and happiness. Bluebirds inspire us to embrace life. Urn Garden’s Bluebird Jeweled Mini Urn is also very small: just two inches high and two and a quarter inches long. It will hold just a “trace” amount of ash. It’s hand-painted a brilliant blue and studded with crystals, making it a tiny treasure.

19th century Naturalist John Burroughs called the bluebird the divinest of the birds of spring: “The other birds that arrive about the same time–the sparrow, the robin, the phoebe-bird–are clad in neutral tints, gray, brown, or russet; but the bluebird brings one of the primary hues and the divinest of them all.” (Source: AZ Quotes)

If you agree with him, this bluebird urn may be the perfect way to share a loved one’s ashes with friends and other family members.

Love Owls? Then Check Out This Sweet Owl Urn

Owls are intelligent, patient observers of the world around them. For many, the owl symbolizes intuition (the ability to see/feel what others can’t) and wisdom.

Others believe the owl heralds a change or life transition; a belief which makes this owl urn most meaningful.

As with the previous two bird urns; our Wise Owl Keepsake Urn is small, measuring just four and a half inches high. Made of hand-painted resin, this whimsical bird urn is rich in detail. It’s suitable for a small portion of ash, lock of hair, or other small memento.

Hummingbird Urns

One of our most popular bird urns is the Jeweled Hummingbird Mini Urn. Naturally, hummingbirds are symbols of energy and vitality (anyone who has watched one flit effortlessly from flower-to-flower knows that!) But they are also symbolic of healing, persistence and peace.

Just like the bluebird min-urn, this hand-painted emerald green metal sculpture is very small: less than four inches high with a wing-span of just three inches. It can hold just a trace amount of ash, or a lock of hair. Crystals add extra sparkle to this delicate keepsake memorial.

If you’re looking for a hummingbird urn large enough for the ashes of an adult, our Happy Hummingbird Urn for Ashes might just take your breath away. This metal urn is sturdy and features a highly-polished blue surface.

Hummingbird lovers who want cremation jewelry will appreciate this unique Silver Hummingbird Urn Jewelry. Handcrafted in the United States by talented artisans, this pendant will quickly become a treasured keepsake.

Bird Urns Represent the Best in Life: Hope, Faith, Wisdom, and Love

eagle cremation urn for ashes

“Everyone likes birds”, said David Attenborough. “What wild creature is more accessible to our eyes and ears, as close to us and everyone in the world, as universal as a bird?”

We love them for so many reasons. Yes, they’re lovely to look at, and fun to watch. But birds are more to us than we may realize; think about Emily Dickinson’s poem, “Hope is the thing with feathers”, which describes hope as a small bird. I’m sure you’re familiar with the first stanza:

“Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all…”

Birds bring us hope; but what of faith? J.M. Barrie, the author of Peter Pan, wrote of the connection between birds and faith in his novel The Little White Bird: “The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.” (Source: Goodreads)

Forever Blue: Our Top 5 Blue Urns for Ashes

April 1, 2017 Kim Stacey

blue cremation urns for ashes

Did you know blue is the most popular color in the world? If blue is your favorite color I’m sure you’ll enjoy this post because I’m going to share Urn Garden’s 5 most popular blue cremation urns.

What’s so Special about Blue?

Psychologists tell us blue is identified with depth, harmony and stability; people who love the color are sensitive, in tune with their emotions, and introspective. For many, blue symbolizes loyalty, faith and trust. Blue–in all its shades– serves to calm the mind and heal the spirit.

I hope you’ll agree: the blue urns featured here are beautiful reflections of the emotional and psychological significance given to the color blue. Handcrafted of metal, each of our top 5 blue cremation urns is unique. It’s no wonder they’re so popular.

With its classic lines, our Mystic Blue Urn for Ashes is appropriate for the ashes of either a man or a woman. It can be personalized too; with an optional laser engraving.

Our Gone Fishing Urn for Ashes is very popular with families who wish to pay tribute to an outdoorsman or woman who loved the tranquility of deep sea or fresh water fishing. It too can be personalized by engraving on the surface of the urn. Hand painted, this metal blue urn features multiple layers of lacquer which give it “a glassy sheen”.

According to color psychology experts, blue expresses calm, gentle, serene feelings while also expressing growth, strength and spirit. For many Urn Garden customers, this makes our Royal Blue Cremation Urn the perfect choice to honor their loved one. Trimmed in shimmering mother of pearl, it makes a beautiful memorial and can be personalized with laser engraving which comes through as gold lettering against the navy blue enamel.

Unlike the previous three blue urns, Our small Blue Heart Sharing Urn is a rich, dark blue keepsake urn, intended to hold only a portion of ashes. It comes with a display stand.

Sometimes it can mean a lot for family members to share a loved one’s ashes. If this popular blue heart sharing urn isn’t to your liking, but you appreciate the impact it can have to share ashes with others; you might take a look at our other hand-selected Urns for Sharing and Scattering Ashes.

The final blue urn featured in this top 5 list is our Forget Me Not Urn for Ashes.

forget me not cremation urn for ashes

Here, classical styling is complemented by its ombré coloration. You may already know: “ombré” is the gradual blending of one color hue to another, from light to dark. Like the others, this blue cremation urn can also be engraved.

You might not remember the Chris Issak 1996 song “Forever Blue” but I sure do. It’s because, for me, he captured the deep sadness of grief symbolized by the color of our blue cremation urns:

“Nobody ever warns you
Or tells you what to do…
You’re left to stay
Alone forever blue…
The stars have all stopped shining
The sun just won’t break through
Each day’s the same
More clouds more rain
You’re left forever blue…”

For me, “Forever Blue” describes the raw emotions of grief. When you add other aspects of our perception of blue–loyalty, trust and faith–you can see how our blue urns have a deep significance.
