Rose Cremation Urns: Pretty in Pink

June 29, 2017 urngarden.com

In an earlier post this month, “Rose Cremation Urns for June”, I promised you a second post showcasing our rose cremation urns–and here it is!

One of our customers emailed us about this urn to say, “My mom passed away last week & this urn IS my mom!! She LOVED pink & roses!! So much so, she had a pepto bismol PINK colored car, that she had no problem dropping us off at school as teenagers, lol!”

This collection of rose urns are charmingly elegant. The first, our Sweetheart Rose Cremation Urn is porcelain and made in the USA . Next, the Tea Rose Cremation Urn is of ceramic; and the third, our Dusty Pink Rose Cremation Urn is a gorgeous cloisonné urn.

The Carolina Rose Cremation Urn, crafted in the United States from fine porcelain and measures almost 11” tall. It features heirloom Rosa Carolina flowers in soft shades of pink, highlighted on an ivory white background with gold trim and a bronze base. It’s size makes it suitable for the ashes of an adult.

Ruby Rose Cremation Urn

As I said, this next rose urn, our Ruby Rose Cremation Urn is one of my personal favorites. This metal is a beautiful shade of deep burgundy with a shimmering mother of pearl inlay of roses.

Measures: 10′ H x 7″ W
Capacity: Adult, 200 cubic inches
The lid can be sealed with any clear household adhesive or wax.
The photo frame is optional and doubles as a keepsake to store a small amount of ashes.

Dusty Pink Rose Urn for Ashes

Pretty Dusty Pink Rose cloisonné cremation urn, the world wide symbol of love and devotion. People often mistake Cloisonne (pronounced Cloy-son-a) as ceramic or porcelain, and are surprised to discover that it’s metal. Cloisonne is an ancient art that blends layers of copper, brass, and baked enamel for a beautiful strong finish in soft pink. Families often choose this style to showcase in the home, as the urn is attractive enough to stand on it’s own as a piece of fine art. We are able to engrave on the cloisonne style (one of the few who do!) if you choose to personalize. In addition to the adult size, this is part of a collection of several different sizes, including an oversized version that will hold two complete sets of human ashes.

All of the styles we’ve shown you today are hand crafted and naturally, can have variations. A couple of them are even made here in the USA. The beauty and symbolism of the rose cannot be denied. Need help finding the perfect memorial? We are here:

Rose Cremation Urns, Endearing Symbols of Love

August 20, 2014 urngarden.com

vintage roseRoses are among the most endearing symbols of love, admiration and appreciation and are used in a variety of occasions from birthdays to anniversaries to funerals. It’s a popular choice for families that want a cremation urn to honor a June birth date or perhaps their loved one was named Rose, or maybe even a graceful way to honor someone who’s personality was a little “thorny” and hard to handle.

If you want something that symbolizes many feelings and heart felt emotion, this urn says it all with a multi color bouquet of antique roses in red for passion and love. Pink means sweetness and grace, and white for fresh new beginnings.

Incorporating a floral sympathy piece like a few long stemmed roses, a wreath, or even a few petals scattered at the memorial service adds a touch of elegance and will exemplify the theme of love.

rose wreathVictorians believed in the language of flowers and that each color has its own meaning and interpretation. Do you know what emotion you are expressing when you choose a rose color?

Roses and their intoxicating fragrance have had a long and colorful history with fossilized evidence dating back 35 million years. However, it wasn’t until the 15th century that they started being used as symbolic gestures during England’s War of the Roses. Modern-day roses can be traced back to the late 18th century when they were cultivated and introduced into Europe from China.

Rose Colors and Meanings

While there are many variations of rose colors, these are the most popular and their meanings:

  • Red: Love, affection, romance, desire, courage, passion and appreciation
  • Dark Red: Deep passion and dying love
  • Bright Pink: Recognition, gratitude, appreciation and admiration
  • Pale Peach: Modesty
  • Pink: Elegance, grace and admiration for sweetness and beauty
  • Purple and Lilac: Magnetism, majesty and enchantment
  • Green: Harmony, fertility, peace and tranquility
  • Turquoise: Fertility, abundance and rejuvenation of spirit
  • Blue: Mystery, desire for unattainable
  • White: Innocence, purity, humility, heavenly, marriage and new beginnings
  • Gold or Yellow: Friendship, joy, good luck, welcome back and remembrance
  • Yellow with Red Tip: Falling in Love and friendship
  • Orange: Passion, desire, energy and pride
  • Black: Sorrow, death, loss, courage, sorrow and resistance
  • Red Rosebud: Loveliness and purity
  • White Rosebud: Symbol of girlhood

Sending a combination of colored roses depicts different emotions and symbolism such as:

Pale Colors: Friendship and sociability

Red and White: Unity

Pink and White: Unending love

Red and Yellow: Happiness

Orange and Yellow: Passionate and romantic thoughts

Antique garden roses will usually only bloom once during the season and are always worth the wait. Newer hybrid styles are often smaller is size compared to the vintage species but will flower throughout the growing season.
