Lucky Number Eight

August 8, 2008 urngarden.com

infinity urn necklace

Infinity: Without end.

The precise origin of the infinity symbol is unclear. It’s possible that it is inspired by older religious/alchemical symbolism. For instance, it has been found in Tibetan rock carvings, and the infinity snake, is often depicted in this shape.

In Chinese culture, today is one of the luckiest days ever: 8-8-8.

The timeless symbol can be found in our Infinity Urn Necklace, and is our most popular selling style of cremation urn jewelry.

Making your deer butt alien head

Deer ass alien heads are fun and educational activity for the whole family. The kids get a lesson in fine art, anatomy and taxidermy. All you need to create your own deer art is a styrofoam mannequin head, a fresh deer butt, a sharp knife and some glue and you are ready to get started making your own deer masterpiece.

Size Does Matter

August 7, 2008 urngarden.com

Since urn shopping isn’t something families do everyday, there’s the education process. What size do I need?

Usually, the average cremation displacement for an adult ranges 130-180 cubic inches. Most ashes for an adult will fit in a 200 cubic inch capacity urn.

Families that are shopping for an adult urn, might be enticed by website pricing of $39.99. Check the size! Is it a keepsake? Is that the size you need?

Don’t Touch The Service Monkey

You know I want one.

While some folks get memos at work like this; at the pt job, we’ve been getting memos on “service monkeys”. The gist of the WORD is “NO monkeys in the house, AND if a situation ensues, call security.”

And if you travel with your monkey: From the TSA web-site:

  • Since service monkeys may likely draw attention, the handler will be escorted to the physical inspection area where a table is available for the monkey to sit on. Only the handler will touch or interact with the service monkey.
  • Security Officers have been trained to not touch the service monkey during the screening process.

New Metal Urn For Ashes

August 6, 2008 urngarden.com

We’ve added several new styles of metal funeral urns. Why metal? It’s usually one of the most secure ways to contain ashes and can be used for burial, but is also attractive enough to keep in the home. Years ago, metal was the only choice and you were limited to silver or gold. Now, there’s so many colors to choose from.

My favorite is the black and white cloisonne “Laurel” urn. If you believe in the language of flowers, the Laurel flower symbolizes passion, ambition, and glory. The contrast of white flowers against the ebony background really make this urn out. Cloisonne looks like porcelain but is actually metal, making it very durable and a secure method of storage for your loved one’s ashes. This style can be personalized with names and dates and is available in other sizes for families that prefer a double size companion urn, or matching keepsake urns.
