Saturday in the Hood

June 2, 2007 urngarden.com

Saturday morning at the Cutter. Just need a few things, I get in the short line and wait. When asked if she found everything she needed, the customer ahead of me starts to tick off all the items she couldn’t locate. “Where’s the Little Debby coffee cakes? Can you draw me a map? Need to ring up my coke and candy bar separate, oh and a carton of GPC’s.”

Meanwhile, Corn Nut Breath behind me is breathing heavily.

And just ahead, about to make an exit, is a gentleman who at first I thought was on the phone, but turns out was on the Saturday morning radio show……in his own mind.

Clowns to the left of me jokers to the right……..
