Television crime shows have helped popularize autopsies, but in reality these postmortem exams are becoming rarer every year. Today, hospitals perform autopsies on only about 5 percent of patients who die, down from roughly 50 percent in the 1960s.

Rumors are flying around town that Westboro Baptist Church will protest Joplin, MO Memorial Service. Check out some southern fried justice when the church met it’s match in Brandon, Mississippi.

And finally, a late tribute to Charles Laufer, Founder of Tiger Beat magazine. Charles Laufer, who as a high school teacher in 1955 despaired that his students had nothing entertaining to read and responded with magazines aimed at teenage girls desperate to know much, much more about the lives of their favorite cute stars, died April 5 in Northridge, Calif. He was 87. RIP
