The earlier post on the UPS driver reminded me of a crazy family member who worked for UPS in the 70′s. He HATED it and referred to UPS as the Brown Army. A bit of a renegade, he needed the job, but preferred to get fired so that he could draw unemployment and find something else. He tried various schemes to accomplish the goal, but desperate times called for desperate measures. A plan was hatched: he would wreck the truck, resulting in immediate termination.
He wanted to keep it simple, so he just rammed the rig into the loading dock. Hard. Mission accomplished and eventually he got his dream job: prison guard at the Federal Medical Center.
So now, we have an inside joke….if the situation calls for drastic action? We gotta “crash the truck.”
